About Meridian Wealth Partners

We are a fee-only registered investment adviser founded on the belief that every client deserves objective, personalized financial guidance from advisors who are legally obligated to put their interests first.

Our Story

Meridian Wealth Partners was founded in Hartford, Connecticut in 2008 by a group of financial professionals who recognized a gap in the marketplace: most individuals and families had access either to commission-based brokers with inherent conflicts of interest, or to large institutional firms that treated clients as account numbers rather than people.

We set out to build something different — an independent, fee-only advisory firm where every recommendation is grounded in a client's specific situation, every fee is fully disclosed, and every advisor is held to the fiduciary standard.

Over the past 17 years, Meridian has grown organically through client referrals and by recruiting advisors who share our commitment to objective, client-centered advice. Today, we serve clients with approximately $2.4 billion in assets under management across our three offices in Hartford, Boston, and New York City.

Our Investment Philosophy

We believe that successful long-term wealth management is built on disciplined, evidence-based principles rather than market speculation or short-term trading strategies. Our investment approach is guided by decades of academic research in finance and behavioral economics.

  • Broad Diversification: We construct portfolios diversified across asset classes, geographies, and sectors to manage risk and capture long-term market returns.
  • Cost Consciousness: Investment costs directly reduce returns. We systematically seek low-cost investment vehicles — including index funds and institutional-class ETFs — where appropriate for each client's situation.
  • Tax Efficiency: We consider the after-tax impact of investment decisions, including asset location, tax-loss harvesting, and the timing of distributions.
  • Behavioral Discipline: We help clients maintain a long-term perspective during periods of market volatility, avoiding the emotionally driven decisions that often undermine investment outcomes.
  • Personalization: No two clients are alike. Portfolios are tailored to each client's goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, tax situation, and liquidity needs.

Investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss in declining markets. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

Our Fiduciary Commitment

The fiduciary standard is more than a legal obligation for us — it is the foundation of everything we do. As a registered investment adviser, Meridian is required by law to act in each client's best interest, disclose all material conflicts of interest, and provide advice that is suitable for each client's individual circumstances.

Unlike broker-dealers or dual-registered firms, Meridian does not earn commissions, 12b-1 fees, or referral payments of any kind. We are compensated solely by the fees our clients pay us, which are fully disclosed in our Form ADV Part 2A and Client Relationship Summary (CRS). This structure eliminates a significant category of conflicts of interest present in commission-based models.

We encourage all prospective clients to review our Form ADV Part 2 and CRS, ask us about our compensation, and compare our approach to other advisers before making any decisions.
